SUMMARY:2016 Victory Ball to support military children with new tailored\, proactive programs
DESCRIPTION:The third annual fundraising event for the Military Family Resource Centre of the National Capital Region (MFRC-NCR) will be held on Saturday\, January 30th\, 2016 at the Fairmont Château Laurier\, Ottawa. This prestigious gala brings together members of Ottawa’s business community with past and present military leaders to raise funds and awareness for the MFRC-NCR. Guests of the 2016 Victory Ball will be transported back to the glamourous Old Hollywood era and onto “The Silver Screen” while enjoying a live and silent auction\, a delicious four-course dinner and 30s themed live entertainment. \nComing all the way from the United States of America to guest emcee the gala is stand-up comedian Andy Hendrickson; a military brat who has been a strong supporter of the military on both sides of the border for his whole career\, which includes a trip to Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan as part of “Outback’s Feeding Freedom Tour” to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11. With his family’s rich military history\, his love of Canada and his delightful sarcasm\, Andy Hendrickson will guide this year’s Victory Ball guests through an evening they won’t forget! \nAll proceeds from the third annual Victory Ball – www.victoryball.org\, will go towards the creation of proactive programs designed to help the current generation of military children raised by parents suffering from Post–traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Funds raised this year will enable us to provide them with the support they need to overcome military lifestyle challenges and thrive as strong and resilient youth. \nThe MFRC-NCR is the only local non-profit organization that directly supports Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. We serve 11\,000 military members (Regular and Reserve)\, 8\,000 spouses and 9\,000 children\, and are committed to enriching the lives of our community members by providing dedicated support programs and services for families that see frequent moves\, deployments and other interruptions to their family lives that most Canadian families will never experience. \nMFRC-NCR – Strength Behind the Uniform \n
