DESCRIPTION:Everyone loves a special occasion — be it India’s Diwali\, the Chinese New Year\, the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah\, Toonik Tyme in Iqaluit or Canada Day. What better way to appreciate the diversity of celebrations in Canada than through Kids Celebrate!\, an exhibition presented at the Canadian Children’s Museum from October 6 until January 1. \nKids Celebrate! invites children aged 5 to 12 to learn about the many celebrations that are observed in communities across the country. Although often unique to a particular country\, culture or religion\, celebrations bring families and communities together. From large groups of people gathering for a day of festivities to a special moment in a child’s everyday life\, it is through these joyous and important occasions that children and families discover and appreciate the traditions of their own and other cultures. \nThe exhibition is divided into four zones\, each evoking a different season\, family and community setting. Young visitors will engage in hands-on activities\, discover new games\, make crafts\, and take on new roles that will stimulate their curiosity and motivate them to explore the many aspects of celebrations in Canada. \nKids Celebrate! is a travelling exhibition produced by the Canadian Museum of History and presented by the Canadian Children’s Museum from October 6\, 2017 to January 1\, 2018. \nThe Canadian Children’s Museum\, one of the Canadian Museum of History’s most popular attractions\, provides a creative space for children and families to learn about the world and broaden their cultural experience. Passports in hand\, visitors discover one incredible destination after another. Whether on a visit to homes in the International Village\, a trek to a desert pyramid\, a jaunt to the Port of Entry to help unload a cargo ship\, or a stroll through the bustling Market Bazaar\, visitors encounter endless ways to learn about the world and one another. \n  \n
