Positive discipline for 0 to 12-year-olds
Under the expert direction of Joanne Boyd at Family Services Ottawa, this five-week course offers an informative and interactive exploration of the challenges and opportunities facing parents of children aged 0 to 12. Topics include child development, effective communication, building self-esteem, setting limits and positive discipline techniques.

Introducing Solids to Your Baby

For parents/guardians with babies from 0-9 months. Join a registered dietitian as she talks about how to successfully introduce solids to your baby. She will also demonstrate how to make your own baby food, as well as ways to make feeding your baby fun and easy!

Infant Sleep Class

Are you an exhausted parent who has tried everything and cannot get your baby to sleep? Do you want to find a solution that doesn’t involve crying it out? We will address identifying individual and family needs, creating a support system and providing a safe place for parents to share stories that support evidence-based sleep patterns. Babies are welcome and encouraged to attend class.

Emotional and Social Skills for School Readiness

Being ready for school means more than children knowing letters and numbers. When children can deal with strong emotions and get along with others, they are more open to learning. In this workshop, you will learn about typical emotional and social development. You will discover age-appropriate ways to build your child’s skills through play. For parents of children who will be starting kindergarten in September 2017.
