There are lots of things to do outdoors.
More than ever, this past year has taught us how important recreation activities are for our physical and mental health. That’s why the City of Ottawa has lined up lots of free family activities this winter that are sure to be “Snow much fun!”
Being outside, and with public health measures in place, these activities offer a safe and healthy way to get outside with members of your household.
So, what is happening? For those who love the white fluffy stuff, grab a pair of snowshoes or cross-country skis and enjoy the scenic winter trail network. The City is a proud partner of the Urban Winter Trails Alliance and this year there are even more trails to explore.
Let’s not forgot the good old Canadian pastime – tobogganing! Check out the list of the City’s sledding hills to find a spot close to you.
If you’re more of an ice person, take advantage of the City’s four refrigerated outdoor rinks and 250 plus community rinks. Look out for rink ambassadors for added exciting activities. s
Be on the lookout for Snow Much Fun! activities in your community. Plus find a copy of the Snow Much Fun! activity book, or download and print your own, with colouring activities for kids to complete as they explore the many fun ways to keep active. Make this winter about outdoor family time. Enjoy what Ottawa has to offer.
