The ultimate game night, Music on a Mission is a major fundraiser for Family Services Ottawa and takes place on Friday, October 26 at Tudor Hall.
Event planner Mikhela Jason explains how it works: “Teams of 10 are challenged to name artists, songs, movies, commercial jingles and television shows from every musical genre. It’s tons of fun and perfect for friends, families or co-workers.” Jason says there are some great prizes, some spectacular auction items, pizza courtesy of Pizza Pizza and best of all, it’s all for a good cause.
“This is our single most-important fundraiser,” says Laurie Rektor, director of community programs for Family Services of Ottawa. “We’re thrilled that it sells out every year, that people have a good time and that it allows Family Services Ottawa to build awareness in the community through a fun evening.” The event provides funding for Family Services Ottawa, so they can continue to provide accessible counselling services and make sure other services are available for people who may not be able to access help and resources any other way. “We’re one of the oldest registered charities in the city,” says Rektor, “and we know we are meeting needs and filling gaps in the community.”
