This holiday season, pack up the kids and venture into the great outdoors – without having to brave the bitter cold.
“It’s important to us to inspire a love of theatre, literature, or music in kids of all ages,” said Stephanie Kersey, who manages marketing for Centrepointe Theatres. “It makes for a well-rounded community, and hopefully happier, more creative kids. We are a part of this community too, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
“It’s important to have something that every family can attend.”
There are more than 20 shows scheduled for Centrepointe Theatres’ coming season.
The lineup includes comedians Ron James, Stephen Wright, The Debaters, Just for Laughs and Howie Mandel; as well as musical performances by The Men of the Deeps,
Celtic performers The Irish Rovers with their 50th Anniversary Tour, and a Pink Floyd tribute act.
For families, there’s The Imagination Movers, Room on the Broom, and Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Other one-off variety acts include illusionist Darcy Oake, who is now taking North America by storm, ArcAttack and Ballroom with a Twist, which brings together celebrities from Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol.
“Our goal is to make sure there is something for everyone in our spaces – whether it’s a dance production, a live action version of a beloved book, or seeing your favourite
reality television start live on stage, there really is something for every taste and every budget,” said Kersey.
“We have the luxury of being in our ticketholders’ backyards, and we want them to see themselves in the programming here.”
